There's just something cool bout standing on the start/finish line of a NASCAR stadium. oddly I didn't get a pic of the lightshow.

They had a carnival set up, rides, food, festival of christmas lights, santa, elves, Bethlehem village, a fucking petting zoo with baby buffalo and yaks - I was covered in yak spit and buffalo goo - they liked me for some reason - PONY RIDES! Damn guy wouldn't let me ride. Skating! But get this... it was on synthetic ice!!! ???
It was plastic mats that fit together like a puzzle and you skate with real blades on it - was harder than real ice to skate on. Taught my neice how to do it (she only fell 3 times!) and helped like 3 other kids to do it - one little one was like holding onto a windmill - legs and arms flailing - he was 3ish and the stickiest kid I ever held hands with - yup that was a big deal - I'm a germaphobe and held on to a sticky stranger - for a long time - the yak spit was better - at least I knew what that was tongue

but got him to the point he could move around pretty good on his own.
I didn't get too depressed - was hard to see the kids in wheelchairs in front of rides they couldn't ride or watching us skate. The adults with disabilities are the heartbreaking ones - there with their parents who are elderly - it's what worries me the most about my nephew - when we're all old and dead - who'll look out for him or do things to make sure he's happy and not just existing *sigh*
