Why today sucks

<rant>Our power went off during the night, so this morning I had to decide whether I should stick around here until it came back on or go to an office to work from there. I decided to go to the office, so had to find acceptable office attire, put my hair up and apply makeup by candlelight. Traffic was bad, and since I rarely go to an office, it is always a hassle to gain access to the bldg and get online. By the time I did, I learned that the power was on back home. D'oh! Work was its craptastic self, but I finally got to come home to a beautiful, sunny afternoon and was anxious to get a good run in. I hit the garage door opener and as I watched it twist itself into an unnatural shape and jump off its railing, I remembered that my husband would have had to manually close and lock the door from the inside due to the power outage. (Stay tuned for the price tag for this little trick.) So I wrestled with it and got filthy and wrenched my shoulder until I dissolved into a crying fit. Dear hubby made it home and we were finally able to get it closed enough to avoid being robbed overnight.
I hate when I do stupid things. Instead of my nice run, I ended up staying in - pouting, eating pizza and drinking beer. Now I'm off to watch bad tv. And I haven't ruled out dessert.</rant>

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my stupidity only cost me $125 this time. It looked much uglier than that.

today sucks because i had to say bye to my step dad.....he is packing the truck to leave tonight for maine. i am so sad. i wasnt ready top close this chapter in my life
